Can I swaddle my baby? How do you encourage health sleep habits early?
This amazing method on calming and soothing your baby was developed by pediatrician, Dr. Harvey Karp. Here you will learn simple, natural ways to soothe your baby’s crying which will improve sleep, breastfeeding, and even colic symptoms. This class will walk you through the “5 s’s” and show you how to turn off your baby’s “crying reflex”, the appropriate way to swaddle, how long to swaddle and how to promote a safe sleeping environment for baby. This program will involve demonstration, discussion, video and time for questions and answers at the end of class. Expecting families, pregnant moms as well as families with babies, are welcome. If your baby is past three months of age please call for a consultation. Private in-home sessions available.

What are the benefits of baby massage? When should I take the course?
Infant massage helps baby relax, sleep better, eat better, and helps to enrich the bond between you and baby. This class takes you through the steps of when and how to perform baby massage, what types of natural oils to use, what infant massage does for your baby (including address symptoms of colic!) as well as what it does for the parent doing the massage with a nurturing touch. We discuss the concept of sensory integration, sleep regulation, how it can help symptoms of Postpartum Depression ( PPD ), infant brain development and the importance of nonverbal communication. This infant program includes demonstration, a short baby massage video and time for questions and answers. Infant massage can be done from the time of birth and massage can be continued for years after. Optimum time for a class is around eight months pregnant but parents with babies of all ages can call for a consult. Pregnant Moms are welcome and will practice on dolls that will be provided. Parents with babies are encouraged to bring their baby to class. Private in-home sessions available.
